Sparta Commercial Welcomes Canton, GA to Its Municipal Lease Program

Parent Category: ROOT Created: Monday, 09 January 2012

NEW YORK, NY - (01/09/12) - Sparta Commercial Services, Inc. (OTC.BB: SRCO.OB - News) today announced that Canton, GA has become the latest jurisdiction to join the company's ever-growing Municipal Lease Program with the acquisition of new Harley-Davidson police motorcycles through the Sparta program.

Sparta's Municipal Lease Program is increasingly becoming a preferred source of financing for cities, towns, states, and counties that have a strong need to acquire a variety of essential equipment. The Sparta program allows governmental agencies to lease over a number of years, rather than purchase that equipment, and thereby reduce the strain on their capital budgets. The program provides a more cost-effective opportunity for municipalities to get the necessary equipment they need while economic circumstances demand greater frugality by governments at all levels. The Sparta Municipal Lease Program can accommodate nearly every type of asset class, including -- in addition to police motorcycles -- surveillance equipment, fire and emergency equipment, police cruisers, tactical and utility vehicles, and virtually any type of equipment considered essential by local or state agencies.

Ty Phillips, Sales Manager of Harley-Davidson of Cartersville, GA, the dealer providing the motorcycles for this transaction, said, "The first municipal lease arrangement we did with Sparta Commercial Services for the City of Woodstock [Georgia] went so smoothly that when the City of Canton asked if we could provide a lease for their motor fleet, we had no reservations about contacting Sparta again."

Sgt. Jeff Tucker of the Canton Police Department added, "This was our first experience with leasing our motorcycles, and the professionals at Sparta's Municipal Leasing division made it easier than we would have thought possible. They walked us through the process quickly and efficiently, and got us the fleet we needed with the budget we had. It has been a real pleasure working with them."

Commenting on the addition of Canton, GA to the company's expanding roster of Municipal Lease Program customers, Anthony Havens, Sparta's CEO, said, "Once again, we're welcoming another jurisdiction to the growing ranks of municipalities that have recognized the value and advantages of Sparta's Municipal Lease Program. And we're especially pleased to be able to help these governmental agencies better weather the financial challenges they're facing in these difficult economic times. We expect to continue to add more and more jurisdictions to our program in the coming months, by providing them with a better and more cost effective alternative to the old method of purchasing the essential equipment they require."
